28/082026Anonymous - Called twice, "Briitish Gas". The first time it was to try to get me to have a 'smart' meter installed (a perennial thing with BG). The second time, later that day, it was a similar endeavour but in response to a message I'd sent British Gas (the real British Gas) about submitting my meter readings, and they made reference to my email the second time they rang. This suggests that it really is British Gas. However, the poor quality of speech, the garbled delivery and the delay on the line (they call from a centre in South Africa, I believe, so the same Time Zone as the UK) all give the impression of a badly-funded scam site (and some would argue that's a pretty accurate description to use of the company concerned; they might think that but I couldn't possibly comment).

07/112025Mags - Didn't answer so they left a message. Claimed to be British Gas wanting to know about their service - asked me to ring them back - I didn't.

03/112025Anonymous - Same as other user; very noisy background with computer key clacking, 5-7 seconds delay from answering till anyone said anything. Hung up when no response to my greeting. Called me 3 times in one day at random times, not consistent with someone who works a 9-5 job (called me in the morning at 10:00, again at 13:30 and again at 17:40).

13/102025Anonymous - Upon answering there was a very noisy background chatter like a busy call centre. Female voice simply said "Hello" & cut off
